Intimate Talk

An intimate talk with Carolina De La Cruz...

MY FAVOURITE QUOTE... There are several quotes I like but recently I read an article about real state in the FT and there was an sentence that attracted me, it said “ A tenant is looking for perfection in their price range, whereas a buyer is looking to add value” and I thought  that it doesn’t happen only in real state but in all aspects of our life. For instance when we hire a service we look for the best in our range price but when we buy we must add value.

 

MY FAVOURITE BOOK AND THE ONE IN MY DESKTOP NOW... With regards to my favourite book, I would like to name one but I was in love with almost every book I have read. Some of them were Embers by Sandor Marai, Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand, The Reader by Bernhard Schlink, The feast of the Goat by the Peruvian novelist Mario Vargas Llosa, The fall of giants by Ken Fallett and Stieg larsson’s Millennium trilogy amongst others. The ones I read recently are: Black Flags by Joby Warrick, Good to Great by Jim Collins and Our Kids by Robert Putnam.

 

A JOURNAL, I typically read the FT,  the WSJ and the economist. I prefer to see different perspectives of that is happening around us, reason why I don’t have a favourite one.

 

LAST THING I BOUGHT AND I LOVED, it is definitively my new bed line. It was in my mind for a while until I bought it. I love it now. It is made from 100% Egyptian cotton and the wave of the sheet is sateen which give it a smooth feel. This line is part of Sferra Milo’s ultra plus collection.

 

AND THE THINK I AM EYEING NEXT is a watch. I want something delicate, ultra feminine. I like the Patek Philippe twenty-4. I saw it recently at Wempe Jewelers.

 

AND UNFORGETTABLE PLACE I HAVE TRAVELLED TO IN THE PAST YEARS is France. A few years ago a friend of mine and me hired a luxury car and  we travelled all over France, visiting wineries, and beautiful small boutique hotels.  In Paris we went to the opera, visited small bar (We ate French cheese, drank red wine and laughed a lot). Then we dined in some Michelin Star restaurants. It was a beautiful experience and I am looking forward to a new one.

 

AN INDULGENCE I WOULD NEVER FORGO is my perfume.

My current one is Roja Haute Luxe. Warm and dry, powdery and sophisticated. I love to feel it in my hair when I wake up.

 

A RESTAURANT IN LONDON, I like many restaurants in London as I enjoy very much eating out. I find a enormous pleasure in sharing a diner and talk, discuss ideas, experiences. A RECENT FIND, two ones in same hotel. They are the GONG bar, floor 52 of Shangri La Hotel, and the TING lounge located on level 35 of same hotel. www.the-shard.com

 

A DREAM is one day look back and say I did as much I was able and I am happy and proud of me, contributed in same way  to improve  the time or life of others and mainly I didn’t hard anyone.  

 

FINALLY, WHAT IS THE BEST THING ABOUT WHAT YOU DO AND THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE, The best is that I have the possibility to connect with others and exchange ideas. Many times I meet  high-profile people such as politicians or people who is running the world and I can learn from them.

In terms of challenges we all face these. I think they are vehicles to learn, they are great because push us out of our comfort zone to learn something new. Even though I had a university education and even a master's degree, It was difficult for me to start a new business without speaking English and with zero knowledge about the adult industry. I believe that is important to welcome challanging circumstances and be able to see these, analyse, plan and implement a strategic to overcome challenges.
